Amanda Franklin Tribute on The Flightline TV show

The Flightline extends our thoughts and prayers to Kyle and the Franklin/Younkin families. Amanda passed away May 27, 2011. We captured this footage in 2010 at the St Cloud airshow in Minnesota.

Amanda Franklin was hurt on March 12 at Air Fiesta at the Brownsville South Padre Island Airport. She had been wing-walking on a plane piloted by her husband Kyle when there was an engine problem. The plane lost power, crash-landed and caught fire. She was severely burned over much of her body and also suffered other injuries. Since that day she had been hospitalized in the burn unit at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my beautiful girl Amanda passed away at 10:10 central time this evening. Beside her was her adoring husband Kyle, her mother Jeanie, her brother Matt, her sister-in-law Michelle and her devoted mother-in-law Audean.
