Thank you. Mai Heer Mazar is in Jhang, Punjab, Pakistan.  I do not have any other video like this but do plan to make them on my next visit to Pakistan.

Dr.SaeedM Ji, the inital couplets/stanzas are of Khawaja Farid's but the "Mai Ni" nazam is one of the most famous Kafi by by Madhu Laal Hussain. He wrote this over 400 years before Khawaj Farid. Both are indeed great poets in their own right and our heritage that we are all very proud of.

@prinzdude As far as oral history goes, I suppose one has never witnessed one's own conception. Only with DNA analysis can we be absolutely sure whether one is one's father's son and it is to forensic history that we must turn. In this case I am relying on McAuliffe, M. A., Sikh Religion: Its Gurus, Sacred Writings, and Authors, London: Oxford University Press, 1909. The tradition of Hadith's (al-Sahih, al-hasan, and al-da'if) authenticity and quality may help I suppose!

Well Khalsa Sahib, if you only knew! Guru Harigobind was considered so extravagant in lifestyle that he was taunted "a fakir riding horses and pretending to be a Prince" by Bhai Gurdass his uncle and scribe of the Granth Sahib. Guru Arjan Dev actually prevented Bhai Gurdass to include Shah Hussain's Kafi in the granth because he had considered the line "fakir nemana" as being an insult on the "assumed" significance of the guruship!

This is the best version of sufiana kalam. The rustic folk singer is as good as gold. He beautifully mixed Farid's kalam with Shah Hussain. The astai of Ghulam Farid is killing. (The whole life I spent in search and I didn't even find the path!)Every time I hear it, I cry. Even though the video quality is not good but the content is superb. I wish more presentations of this singer to be on You Tube. Please accept my gratitude for putting this video on for us. Thanks.

It is Heer from "Heer Ranjha", since she belonged to Jhang, those people call her Mai with due respect.
