Where can i get all of the eco- geeks videos
southafrika101 1 year ago
@southafrika101 - Almost all of the ecogeeks videos are at UntamedScience (dot) com! There are about 200 or so of them in classrooms now through Pearson Publishing and those won't be online. Hope that helps.

So were the beetles that were "fogged" killed?
Also,How to we decide what species should exist and which ones shouldn't?
I mean isn't this EVOLUTION's job? Are we getting too involved in nature? We don't have a great track record in that department.
And who decides the outlines of biodiversity? I mean if you like Butterflies more than lizards.....will we be more interested in saving the Butterflies over the lizards?
I mean we can't save all of the species of the world. Can we?

@magnusscott
Yes, the beetles that were "fogged" were killed. They were collected and identified by various experts. It's unfortunate, but it was necessary to get an estimate of the diversity. I see your point. We should conserve biodiversity and let nature do its thing. We as scientists are just trying to understand it. Scientists aren't planning to save one species over others. In fact, scientists often pick certain "showy" species, like pandas, in hopes of protecting entire areas ...
