  • It's not always about being able to use one mouthpiece to do everything. Sometimes you just can't get the right sound with a particular setup; not all trumpets are designed the same...same thing goes with mouthpieces. Like, a heavy trumpet will never sound good in a big band setting, just as an ultra light trumpet will never sound good in a symphonic setting. You need to use the right horn/mpc for the job at hand, but unfortunately not all of us can afford 5 different Bb's and 20 Monette mpc's

  • Спасибо "огромное"!!!Недавно нашёл,посмотрел-послушал и добавил себе.С праздником РОЖДЕСТВА поздравляю ВАС!!!

  • Is it my imagination or is he looking a lot like Al hirt?

  • who care's what the message is...the message is the music. Don't worry about mouthpiece's....only trumpet players :)

  • Bobby is playing some really beautiful lyrical stuff here.

  • He wasn't always in favor of switching. I remember a Shew clinic from the 80's where he said the screw-on rim was the only type of switching he approved of. Much later he said "I tried one mouthpiece for everything for twenty years before I realized it didn't work." (or similar words.) Switching in the middle of a song is not something everybody would approve of though. (Then again, a lot of guys seem to think you're a sissy if you don't play double Cs on a trombone mouthpiece.)

  • I hope the two mouthpieces he uses are the same size and he only changes to get more of a fizz. Otherwise that doesn't send out a good message. Shew is good enough to do everything he needs on one mouthpiece, surely?

  • yehh!!! :)
