in the book it said there was a war between the birds and the beasts and that the bats didnt fight, how come now everything is messed up, the bats are fighting and the beasts are fighting the beasts (wolfs vs bears) ?

Because that was something totally different. The battle of the Birds and Beasts (causing the bats to be banished into darkness) happened a LONG time ago. This is just something completely different (something similar happened in Sunwing, but not in this way)

Isn't Frieda supposed to be dead? I remember her dying in the book, but I'm not sure if that was at the end or somewhere in the middle.
