This tutorial applies in the same way to CanvasRider despite the minor differences in the track editors.

Basic FR2 Controls that may help:
SHIFT - makes the line originate from the last point you drew (Where the small blue cross is).
"W", "A", "S" and "D" - Move the camera around.
Ctrl + click and drag - move camera.
Scroll Wheel or "+" and "-" - Zoom in and out.
