It was back to Pondok Tanggui Reserve for the 9:00 a.m. feeding on the ride downstream. Greed, intimidation, fear, and respect is all part of the Orangutan world, especially once the big Alpha male made his appearance. The other Orangutans scattered in all directions, bananas in hand or mouths, at a respectful distance until one felt confident that "The Boss" had stuffed his face enough to chance coming back down.

There were never many tourists on the Sugai River and these reserves give you a chance to sit and watch for as long as you want without hundreds of people pushing and shoving for vantage points. An absolutely wonderful experience.
