running is done with the joystick. the two controller thing you are talking about is only for "spotlight moments" where you try to shake faster than your opponent to lose him. An occasional thing.

hey u can sign free agents and trade and all that stuff in super bowl mode u just have to click the EA symbol in the bottom left corner and the settings come up
