Almost same #2, i guess? But this time longer, and with some music ;)

You're looking at some simple particles physics running on the GPU, under C# and Managed DirectX. Turns out its pretty fast!

I'm using 1024*1024 textures for position and velocity, and calculate forces passing the mouse position to the shader. With some optimizations or better hardware, i could go up to 4 or 16 million particles. That's just insane!! ;)

Next up is computer-vision on the GPU combined with physics, so the particles will react to what the webcam sees. (ie. a GPU version of my Interactive Logo app)

oh and for those who are interested, this is running in real-time on an nvidia 8800 GT, without using CUDA or PhysX.

  • Very gooood. And music? I love the beat xD Pls tell ;)

  • @tastatur98 Thx!

More people have asked about the music.. The stupid thing is; I was listening to web radio or DJ set at the time and I am not really sure, man ! I think it's Robot Koch, but I'm not sure which tune... I will check it out. Or can anyone here help us out?

  • what software did you use??? this is incredible!!! I love the texture!

  • @ArameoDios Thx, man! The software is home-made and runs in real-time. Some simple particles is all it is, really ;) Check out my later vids for way more real-time stuff.

  • Lol its the demo not worth

  • @ImKnowing you're right, man :D check out some of my later stuff

  • There's one thing I don't like, myself can make a video with around 200 000 particles and make it look 3 times more than this video.

But the cool thing with this video is that you animated it, myself can only make "1" frame in 15 minutes with my shitty computer ^-^

    I'm currently using Cinema 4D r13.

  • Nice looks like something you can make in Processing, excellent stuff.

  • Is the source code available? :)

  • God called, he wants his computer back.

  • Why squares for particles, why not triangles? 2x triangles for squares...

  • would be an awsome screen saver

  • Exactly what happens when Galaxies collide.
