Apparently, the exporter (I think) screws up the focal point if the zoom is LOWER than default (35 mm), but behaves ok if equal or greater.

  • This is using LuxRender or LuxRay in conjunction with Blender and making use of a graphics card to accelerate things?

  • @gyrocam

Yes. It's a very basic prototype for LuxRays. Just a mere demo for this technology, but a few people already use it as a render engine.

  • what kind of graphics card do i need? :)

  • @gyrocam

One that's OpenCL and/or CUDA compliant.

I think the GeForce 6 series and up work great. Tested it on an nvidia 8800 GTS and an ATI Sapphire HD 4350 or something.

  • I saw that little notch you engraved at the 6 inch mark ;P

Thanks. Well, neither have I, until I had to use some precise measurement tool inside.

desigur, asta numai precis nu e...

  • great... never thought about using dof for this kind of effect..:)

  • Nice

  • You might also want to go to videocopilot(dot)net , go to "On the Blog" and find "BLOG SHOW: The Big Show-bowski". There the man shows some awesome DoF footage and also how he filmed it(w/ a real camera).
