If you a are a beginner at playing bass (beginner as in never had any formal lessons and only been playing about a year or so) is there still a good chance of getting in? And is it possible to take the Audio Engineering class and Music Business class without taking a bass, guitar, ect. class? Or is taking one of those necessary?

@RandyRhoadsFan96 Well It would be a good idea to try and at least learn the basics before you go here. In the associate of arts they have Music reading 1 2 and 3 where you can learn to read music. if you go to there website and go to the tab backgrounds and find associate of arts (im assuming you play guitar) and choose guitar and it will take to a page where you then have to click on associate of arts and it will show you their curriculum and what they do during those classes from single strin

In January 2012, MI Extension classes in Audio Engineering, Music Video & Film and Music Business will be offered independently of the certificate or degree track programs.

Hi Irieiris28, we strongly recommend a background in music theory that involves sight reading if you're looking to pursue any of our performance degree programs. However, we take into consideration your entire application including your personal statement, letters of recommendation and audition video when determining acceptance.
Our certificate Industry certificate programs are offered as emphases to the performance programs, or as individualized certificate programs. So you may study those...
