@raisin212k You prove me right by misunderstanding my comment. Singing in a foreign tongue instead of shouting at the restaurant personal in one´s own - my hat off to them...do we stay friends?

@Pitfossil While I do agree with your statement, sir, I am speaking of the aesthetics of musical harmony, and not of the pride on one's nationality when speaking a foreign tongue. You almost certainly understand, as a human being, that there are reasons we like some versions of a song rather than others. This is my only case regarding accents here. Cheers.

@raisin212k Both of them are fluent in German. And, matey - anyone who is ashamed to speak with a home accent needs his head banged against something solid.

Esther and Abi Ofarim were born in Israel. Esthers career started with an US-Movie, Exodus. 1963 both took part at the Eurovision Song Contest, they sung the swiss cotribution. 1965 they made a concert tour through Germany.
It should not be possible, that Esther and Abi sing a goofy German accent ;)
If you listen to Esther in German, she also is singing with an accent. I never had the opinion, that this accent sounds goofy!

It's a little hokey, but not bad... good thing Esther's voice is louder than Abi's. You simply cannot sing this song with a goofy German accent and be taken seriously. No disrespect toward Germans. Just saying, music-wise, you know...

No just No! The USA can only feel this song black or white. People across the pond have simply can't feel it. Gimmick city all the way with this performance :(
