Massena Grasse River Water Levels

Back in 2000, local massena politicians running for office were filmed doing an expensive television campaign advertisment in front of the old massena dam promising to repair it. they were elected. but did they accomplish anything? NO!!

the river in downtown massena was so low the entire summer that you could almost walk across it. ever since the old dam broke the water is not up to normal levels. the water levels in downtown massena have been a fighting issue for several years. a proper plan has never been agreed upon with fixing the problem. polticians have battled with new york state to repair the dam. this video blog was filmed in september 2009.

yes, its sad...politicians and other have been fighitng for over ten years to find a way to repair the old dam. its owned privatly and the owners refuse a few years ago to let it get fixed..so the water levels are dangerous for any boaters.
