Indirectly the USA has the fault of this, the CIA helped a lot to build the dictatorship and the inequality of Peru. The shining path was born out of that scenary.

Lot people making big comments here but there is a long history of US and US backed criminal acts in many countries. The point here is that this is clearly a Propaganda film even if their were a grain of truth it would be a drop in an ocean of US backed crimes.

The Shining Path is actually a semi-religious paramilitary group made up of individuals with psionic abilities, such as telepathy and psychokinesis. That is the reason the Shining Path (though weakened) has never been totally defeated.
The Shining Path is currently planning to conquer the world, and they will, with the help pof their psychic abilities.

the shining path didin't kill 70.000 people .Sure they had their share of killing but the army of Peru killed peasents as well because they were helping the shining path. So did coke dealers too. It was a small scale civil war (if you can say that) and brutallities occured from all sides. Saying that only one side did the killings is a lie BIG lie and pure propaganda.
And US is there to build and only build.?!!!! Since when does US goverment helps other countries with nothing in return?
