A cover of Ellie Goulding's "Starry Eyed" using simply a microphone and a vocoder.

Live effects & post all done in Logic Pro 9. The microKORG is only acting as a MIDI keyboard. All the usual suspect equipment/plugins are in use here.

Arranged & performed by Gordon Shephard.

  • are you using the microkorg vocoder or using the microkorg as a midi controller? this sounds awesome!

  • @nickp182 The Korg's just for MIDI. Logic is responsible for the tasty vocodings.

  • what vst did u use to get the vocoder effect ? :) btw nice cover hehe ;)

  • @SemyMic Logic comes with a sweet vocoder.

  • Hey Man Sounds awesome! I stumbled across this online and I ripped your audio and am making a remix of it on logic, hah i hope you dont mind. Only Problem is the timings a little off cause its just vocals maybe I could send you the beat and you could record sing to it?

  • @IceGrandma2000 I don't mind remixings! Just make sure you link me it when it's done!

It's recorded to click at 148bpm... hope that helps you sync it up.

If not just rip the shit out of it with Flex in Logic.

  • Hey, i was wondering if you could send me a list of all the effects you used for this, and how you made it so you can just hit the keys on the keyboard and they stay in that tune cause right now i have to keep them held down, thanks! :)

  • Can you tell me how to use it LIVE on Logic, like i'm not able to just play the vocoder and sining at the same time, i have to record and after, play the keyboard. Please (and sorry for my english)
