@bmth4111 I'll refer you to an answer to another comment - The preamps aren't the best in the world, obviously, but they're surprisingly good for the low price. I would highly recommend the US-1800 for all-purpose home recording, the pres and converters wouldn't hold up against those in a pro studio, of course. There's loads of headroom though, and I imagine with a really nice set of mics and attention to technique you could use the unit for whatever you wanted.

Nice vid.How do u like the interface,is it worth the money (awesome price),and have you had any issues with it?And have you tried recording a full band with it?I know so many questions. But im really interested in buying this exact interface.

sounds great man. you didn't place a foot wrong on the entire song
Sound awesome!
I'm interested the US 1800 for the same propose (Drums), I'm playing hard on drums - Did the Mic's Preamp have enough headroom? i don't see any PAD option on them....

@78MikoH Hi - I play fairly hard too, I didn't have any problem with overloading the pres. There is an overload indicator for each one that lights up orange. To give you an idea, the trim was set about 12 o clock for overheads, about 9 o clock for kick snare and toms, so there is plenty of headroom left. I would say that the headroom is what makes this unit stand out, considering its low price.

@willdrums711 Im looking into this unit as well. Can i just ask in the recording program you can give each mic its own dedicated track in the multitrack environment or is it just a stereo mix in the end?

@loser7787 Yup. The driver allows you to harness each separate input in your DAW and set them up as tracks.

What computer/laptop do you use? And do you use the cubase that came with the 1800?
eldocumenta 3 months ago
@eldocumenta It's a Dell Inspiron laptop. I use Reaper at the moment, not Cubase.
