In sixth grade Social Studies, we have been studying Greece and Greek Mythology. So for a creative research project, I let the students select and research one of the twelve Olympic Gods. Then they took their information and wrote an interview senerio to be used
with our FLIP CAMERA!

I truly love FLIP CAMERA technology......it has enabled me to snag my students' desire to learn and be creative again!
I also enjoy sending video clips to my parents to keep them updated and involved with what we are learning in the classroom.

Folks who don't have have a Flip can make a PowerPoint of stills, add voice over, then save it as a Quicktime movie to upload. I submitted Intro to Room 204 as a flip movie that we could make with our one school camera. As someone else mentioned, I have a huge waiting list for that camera and I would love to be able to put another one in student hands.

Just received my two flips through the Digital Wish program and can't wait to see how others are using their Flips in the classroom!
I have had my flips in the class for two days and there is already a waiting list of children waiting to sign them out. Its really encouraging to see students excited about creating projects....I guess I need to campaign for more!

What a great program! I can't wait to see what ideas other educators come up with, and an extra Flip for my classroom would help our video projects be even more hands-on (versus trying to do the same project with my one camera).

I agree.... how can you show how you ARE BENEFITTING from having a Flip in the classroom if you don't have one? So this is for teachers who already have a flip, that would like another one?..... silly....

I agree with manyarai - the contest requirements defeat the purpose of the contest. I have a lot of ideas for using a flip in my classroom, which I could show in a ppt movie or the like, but have no way to make a video that shows them in action, since I have no flip video, or any way to make a video.
Congratulations to user heathslade for the winning entry of "The Great Gatsby" re-worked by his students. Although there were some great entries, Mr. Slade's class took a classic and turned it into something new, engaging his students to think about the material in new ways. Congrats!

Digital Wish offers an amazing matching program, where educators can buy one flip and get one free. Over 4,000 educators have received flips through this program and we want to see how Flips are benefiting their classroom!
The purpose of this contest is to share unique ideas with other educators about incorporating video into the classroom. For incentive we are giving away more Flips so more students can benefit. Not only are we giving away Flips but we want to show you how to use them!

The video can be made a flip however does not have to be, you just need to showcase how you are using the flip in your classroom. Therefore a flip still has to be involved in some sort of classroom project, lesson plan or student activity.
