Regarding making a violin sound like a guitar, it's more likely that electric blues guitar is emulating the sound a earlier violins.

Nice, that's some music that really talks. Puts the violin back in its historic blues role, great singing also. Love to know what you're running to get the great 'harp' tone. I'm gonna have to work on that. Did I say NICE?
