Just showing a very small portion of what the Wogglebug can do. There were no other synths around so I decided to show how it can act as a type of stand alone synth/noise maker! There are many sound outputs on the "Bug" but I just decided to use the 2 main Outs as that's where most of the action is. Besides making amazing sounds this module is also a mecca of modulation. There are a ton of CV Outputs. A lot of this module was inspired by the functions of the Buchla 265 Source of Uncertainty. The Smooth and Stepped specifically.

  • how were you doing that first sequence? all with this alone?

  • That first sequence (little percussive bursts) was strictly the Wogglebug. Unfortunately it's not in front of me at the moment so I can't tell you the parameters. I just set the LFO rate as you hear it and tweaked it in to get those kind of short blasts of blips and bursts. Loads of fun syncing it to a MIDI clock and laying it over a beat.

  • What would you use this sound for?

  • Well, I can tell you what I HAVE used it for on a track that saw wide release... Percussive noises! But IMO the Wogglebug's other amazing, inimitable side comes to life when you DON'T HEAR IT. I've had some incredible results using it as a CV source. And what a CV source it is! Some background if you don't know... Part of the circuitry is based on the Buchla 265. If you know about the 265 you have 25% of an idea what this thing is capable of. Matt, Modular Synths are only limited by the user.

  • My fave Wiard Module! Nice to see a fellow member of the Loyal Order of the WoggleBug on YouTube. I shall drink an absinthe in your honor, sir.

  • Thanks for this demo !

It's just confirmed that yes, I want one, I need one..

  • Thanks, I was just wondering.

  • haha that is hilarious, what a funny question

  • Wiard aint expensive if you compare what you get in one module and how nice the metalwork is and the shielding off the module.

  • If you think Wiard modules are expensive, try pricing a Buchla anything. Wiard is an "affordable" alternative to Buchla, but it still ain't Buchla. Wiard is a different enough animal to be light years away from your average analog synthesizer though. Grant Richter is a real life mad scientist.

  • Nice...I loooove my Wogglebug. Expensive? Yes, but worth every penny/peso/euro/etc.
