  • I remember watching The J.L.Hudson Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS TV back in 1973.."Dr Sesuss"(Teddy Geisell)was the parade's grand marshall.

  • my mom was prego with me and had me @ Hutzle hospital of Detroit in April 4, 74 :-)

  • lived in detroit fom 69-76. my dad worked for motown at the building that used to be on woodward ave before it became a parking lot. he used to take us down to the offices to watch the parade from berry gordy's office. this video brings back alot of good memories. went back there this year for the first time since moving away over 30 yrs ago. it's a shame what has happened to the area

  • I lived at Parkside Projects in the early Seventies and quite a few other places around the City throughout the years.. I saw Oopsy in person at one years Shrine Circus.

  • thanks for this footage, its great to see OOPSY the clown from ch4 again I used to watch him alot along with bozo on ch9.JL Hudsons was a magnificent store I love the toyland and the elevator operators pulling that gate a cross to go up.Being from Windsor we wnt on the tunnel bus shopping with my grandmother who was also hungarian and she would speak to me in hngarian to watch ot for the "feketa".LOL!!!

  • well they wher just gabbing away in hungarian . but oh my god you should have seen the look of shock and disbelief in the faces when i started to speak with my mother in hungarian. it was so funny i was 10 at the time 1956

  • i remember taking the fort st bus downtow with my mother. at least2-3 a month.what happend to you detroit. i can remember a funny incident that happend on the bus once. well we lived near delray which at time was mostly hungarin be of hungarian decent myself at the time could speak it quite well . well 1 day on the these 2 older ladys were speaking hungarian .thinking no could understabd them to be continued
