This is much better than the later version. It sounds like music from a haunted council estate.

Great lyrics.

What is the source of this song by the way I am trying to find an MP3 of it.

Guitar sounds very very similar to the one in The Visitor by Pauline Murray. Look up Martin Hannett and you will see him mixing that song with Tony Wilson in 1980.
Fantastic sonically, nothing has came close to the echo'd tones as Hannett.

It's good - but it's a shame the instruments are out of tune though. I prefer the acoustic version it's beautiful.

This came out long before Monaco
-
To me the intro sounds a bit like "What do you want from me?' by Monaco. It's not a criticism, just a perhaps.

Wow, so much better than the album version. They should have given Hannett the money to finish this mix and put it on instead. This is great, and shows that Hannett still had it even at the end.

god damn it's amazing! it has the best qualities of cranberries and r.e.m.

Hanett was a great studio alchemist.
It's actually Martin HANNETT'S version of the track. Hannett is a true legend.
