Recorded on April 14, 1942, and arranged by Tadd Dameron.

I inherited a couple of orange crates full of 78 records (nobody else wanted them or knew what to do with them!), and at first glance not long ago, I know I spotted some Lunceford discs...Man I gotta dig them out and see what I got! this stuff is great! I know some are so old they are really thick and only have one side.

I'm not sure who the 4th singer was.

This was arranged by Tadd Dameron. The vocalists were Willie Smith, Joe Thomas, and Gerald Wilson, all instrumental section members in the JL band.

Right on. I'd bet that just about anyone else would've just ran with the records, not wanting to go to the trouble of burning 'em. 5'll get you 10 that the only reason they were in the box in the first place was for lack of listening/transfer equipment. The world needs more like you, sir.
They came in albums to boot????? Man, I've been looking high & low for those - used to find empty 10 & 12 pocket albums on ebay a few years ago, but can't seem to find 'em anymore.
Again, what a haul!!!

Great! Can be used for a car ride scene in a movie. Smooth, green, and lay back. Nice.
Wow! Did these latest garage sale discs have sleeves or what? From what I've seen thus far, they're in GREAT shape.
Please don't tell me the seller took $10 for the box of 200.....

They cost $50 for both boxes. All were in 10 and 12 page albums. About 30 of them were private cut 'letters' to relatives in Nebraska from LA. I recorded them, put on CD and brought back to the lady at the sale. Turns out they were to her parents (to whom these records belonged) from 1947-1952, before she was born. She was pretty happy to get them back and recorded on the CD. Lots more to go. CDB
