I am going to veneer a small panel as an experiment to see how the process works. I purchased a couple of veneer packs on sale at Rockler to use in my experiment. This panel is 1/4 inch MDF hardboard veneered with movingui, a hard wood from Africa. I will be using TiteBond Cold Press Veneer Glue.

  • Joe, good point. As you may notice, I am making up a small panel in this video. For wide panels, I use a sanding clamp which I will try to show in a future episode.

  • from my veneering, i know threw practice that sanding your veneer seam is a bad idea, it creates a taper on the edge. You may not notice it on small panels, however on a large panel it will be magnified trying to manage the veneer to stay straight. A home made veneer slicer works like magic, or even a two cherries veneer saw. Also run some tape along the ends of the veneer panels to prevent it form taring along the grain, again on a wide panel it is a must.

  • very helpful.thank you very much

  • we like it; good detail, you are so organized like a rocket scientist...
