What happens when you accidentally disconnect a Firewire drive from an Intel Mac that's showing the EFI boot menu? A lovely, docklike 'poof,' that's what.

    Nope.

Fail. I can unplug firewire from a PC and the only thing that happens is a disappearing icon for your disk in "my computer". If you got a BSOD doing that, you fail.

  • I don't know... I count *nix systems as PC because they don't really run on Mac. I don't know.. if they do, NetBSD would. It runs on EVERTHING! Heck, they STILL have an Atari and a DreamCast port!

  • FreeBSD bootloader. Yeah, you'd reboot, but it's an actual smart bootloader. It notices added or removed partitions, remembers your last choice as your default(I do wish Mac's did that), does notice any bootable drives be they USB external or whatever... I just wish it'd notice extended partitions. Dangit.

  • This is a boot menu...no OS has loaded yet...all you would get on a PC is a BIOS error.

  • why not

  • sweet.

Windoze would blue screen if that happened.

  • Can I put the earlist versons of osx ona firewire hard drive
