Hip-Hop artist Skyze, real name Stephen Landry, is one of the most unique artists coming out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Skyze is not your ordinary Southern rapper. Early in his career, Skyze began with hip hop/alternative music, performing with his former band, "Tabu". Although Tabu performed all over the country, the band was ahead of its time. Due to Tabu's cutting-edge sounds, Tabu stopped doing shows, leaving each artist to go separate ways.
Skyze has become a marker in several underground hip hop scenes such as D.C., Baltimore, Detroit, and now his home, Baton Rouge (just added: performed in Scranton, PA, at the Irish Wolf Pub); in those cities, Skyze performed numerous open mics and freestyle battles. After living abroad, he decided he would return home to continue his musical journey.
Currently, Skyze is promoting his latest single, "Louisiana", representing for his entire state. Because of his musical experiences, Skyze musical sound is that to the comparison of Gumbo; your ears will be embraced with a mixture of reality, storytelling, club bangers, and street anthems.
