Sorry, but a native English speaker will pronounce 'look' as in 'book'. The Thai word "ลูก" (meaning "child") has a long vowel, though Manggon is right, it's spoken a bit faster in ลูกทุ่ง because it's the first word. And 'toong' is also wrong, b/c in English that's a long vowel. The word ทุ่ง has a short vowel. Basically, there's no ideal way to transliterate Thai to English, and nevermind the tone marks!

I have to disagree. Looktoong sounds phonetically correct romanized as such.. whereas luk-tung would end up being said as Luck-Tongue
