Introduction to Selimiye Youth Support & Recreation Inc.

Selimiye Youth Support & Recreation dates back to the the year 2002, when ten sincere volunteers, both youth and middle aged decided to form a beneficial incorporation to gather youth together.

The idea of establishing a youth club in order to encourage and support youth to achieve efficiency in education, business and private endeavors has turned into a reality. These youth are now directors of this club who come together to organise future events.

Our club Selimiye Youth Support & Recreation (SYSR) is non-profit organization, its aim is to dedicate all of its focus to youth in Hume and and surrounding regions by providing social & recreational activities and programs.

The club was originally established on the 4th of November 2002 but it has officially became registered and accredited by Consumer Affairs of Victoria on the 12th of February 2004.

SYSR will crucially focus on socially and culturally disadvantaged youth who have English as a second language and social settlement problems. It provides opportunities for youth to pursue and achieve their dreams by improving their self-confidence within social involvements and to become role models.

Our club is dedicated to gather youth in an educational environment keeping them away from negative influences such as alcohol, drugs, unemployment and so on.

Grants, member contributions and donations are the only sources of income supporting the club's operational expenses.

Selimiye youth currently has over 200 members.
