I worked it out. Make a shortcut to my private folder, then unlock the folder. Go to the toolbar and click on the padlock icon. Go to options and the top one is I think called show on desktop. Click it and the main icon is no longer on the desktop. You can move the shortcut where you like and you no longer have the desktop icon. you can put it back by opening the short cut and going back to the padlock icon and re select show on desk top

All you do is right click it on your desktop and click rename Im working on the hidden thing
