@soulsonicf May-December was part of the BBC coverage of the games. It was used whenever live coverage was about to start or had just finished. It was also used on the interactive menus when results from events were being shown on screen.

I talked to my aunt once and she told me that from May to December, her family worked on the crops down South non-stop basically. And December-April would be their only break from working due to the weather conditionings. That's what I think of everytime I hear this beautiful song. I can picture the hot molding sun throughout the middle of the song, while the song;s intro and outro fits the beginning and the ending vibe perfectly.
