http://zennie2005.blogspot.com/2008/11/paul-cobb-on-chauncey-bailey-mayor-ron... - Paul Cobb is a long-time Oakland, California writer, activist, community organizer and now publisher of the Oakand Post. I met Paul at his office in Downtown Oakland to talk about a wide range of subjects, but the two I was most interested in talking about were who killed Chauncey Bailey and what Paul thought about the current Mayor of Oakland, Ron Dellums.
Bailey was an Oakland journalist who was supposedly murdered by people associated with Your Black Muslim Bakery. But Cobb and others believe that the chain of events that led to someone murdering a journalist in the line of duty is more complicated and may lead to people and institutions one would not expect.

In our talk, Paul got in some interesting information. Without coming out and saying it directly, Cobb believes that an Oakland Police officer had some role in Bailey's eventual death. He says this twice in the video. Cobb also said that California Attorney General Jerry Brown took Bailey's research files from him and never returned them.
Cobb talks about Barack Obama and what his friend the late Dr. Martin Luther King, would think about Barack's historic success in becoming as of this writing the first African American presidential nominee of either party. What Cobb says is not just that he would be proud, but it is the culmination of his dream.
Those are some of the highlights of a man who's life goes back to his personal relationship with Martin Luther King.
It seems that the editor of the Oakland Post is blaming the Oakland Police for Mr. Bailey death. Blaming the ex-govener/Attorney General, any other "white" person for the death of Mr. Bailey. He should really speak more about the blame of the Black Muslims of the Bay Area. Who is the "Wicked Man". I am a white woman and Mr. Bailey was killed by the "wicked man". Our than mayor Ron Dellums is like any southern politican. He comes in his bank with his handsom smile and waving to his "friends".

Bey's lawyer has confessed to smuggling a hit list for Bey of witnesses in the Bailey case. Other evidence against Bey's group is compelling. I think there are some people that don't want to accept the likelihood that Bey's group killed Bailey, tortured those women and terrorized others.

Okay, so I'm just some progressive white girl that grew up in Berkeley and my comments may not hold much water... nevertheless, I gotta say that Paul Cobb is a total gem. This video is great: whether talking about the civil rights movement or the potential tampering of evidence charge connected to the Chauncey Bailey killing, what Paul Cobb has to say is the wisest counsel I've heard in a long time. I am so thankful that this whole interview was posted uncensored.

Most of the time, the internet is pointless.
Most of the time, our time is not well spent.
But every once in a while you find yourself face to face with something illuminating.
Zennie is was good to see that they who have come before are not overlooked by the young, and that the young are not overlooked by the more seasoned
