Felix in Exile - William Kentridge

Work by south african artist William Kentrigde from 1994. Kentrigde uses charcoal and pastels for his drawings in which he erases and redraws parts to create stop motion style animations.

kentridge is a gifted artist and a critic of cultures and so much more... I had a really tough art prof that turned me onto kentridge...
he is the best. it takes him 6-9 months of drawing to get a few minutes of streaming animation... and when he saturates the paper with marks from erasing and drawing... he traces the drawing and keeps the overworked original to sell later as an original drawing... he is a mad genius obsessed with theatre, music(opera), socio-political as all hell...
