This is footage of the Ratoath Sevens that featured on SKY TV's 'Showcase' in September 2011
The Ratoath Sevens is the official All-Ireland 7-a-Side competition for Intermediate teams. This video brilliantly put together by filmmaker Eamonn McManus gives a taste of the huge organisation, unrivalled facilities and fierce competetive nature of the games. On a day when 29 teams participated Nobber of Meath and Tír na nÓg of Randalstown in Antrim could only be separated by extra-time in a thrilling final, having already played 6 games each. Nobber were crowned All-Ireland champions at around 7pm having kicked off at 10am that morning.
Included in these interviews are
Larry McGowan (chairman)
Christy Cooney (President of the GAA)
Pat Daly (GAA Director of Games)
Billy Joe Padden (Armagh & Mayo star)
Brian Farrell (Meath forward)
Paul Conroy (Galway player)
Ratoath GAA highly reccomend the services of Eamonn McManus.
