it's just amazing how he can play melody, harmony, and lead, all at the same time, so fluently and in one sitting. i'm just in awe

As much as Jimi would have appreciated Phil's work, stories like these are just myths.

It's called opinion...and everyone is entitled to theirs'. For example, I think every one of the guitar players you mentioned (even Govan, who sounds like a Greg Howe clone) FAIL when compared to Allan Holdsworth; but those are just MY opinions.

What's funny is that you had to come to a Phil Keaggy video page, and the only comment you could make is one where you just HAD to rebunk someone else's OPINION about Phil Keaggy by stating your OPINIONS as FACTS.

The rendition I heard was Jimi was on the Merv Griffin Show and Merv asked him, "What is it like to be the greatest guitarist in the world?" To which Jimi replied, "I wouldn't know, you would have to ask Phil Keaggy."

This guy is like Tony Emmanuel crossed with Allan Holdsworth with a dash of Eric Johnson and a soupcon of Satriani. Oh, and a dollop of Larry Carlton, too.
