Brain injuries suck and the people around someone who suffers a brain injury; act like it happened to them. They keep saying, "you're not the same". I know I've changed, but rather than focus on that, why not just accept me for who I am now. I would love to be able to join a support group or something with others who have suffered a TBI.
I had a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) 25 years ago. I am just now coming to understand how dramatically it has influenced my life during the many years since the time of the injury. I have had SEVERE depression, confusion, irrational life choices and discombobulated organizational skills ever since the injury. Unfortunately the injury and its influence upon my life has gone undiagnosed, until very recently. Now I can see the deleterious patterns common to TBIs at work in my life.
