Im just a big fan of mash ups. It takes an ear to make them. I haven't tried too hard.
You could always get the "student versions" of programs like Adobe Audtion, Pro Tools, or ACID (audio editing programs).

oh wow i don't think i could pull that off. i just use a mixer to put them together, i wouldn't have any idea how to even start making something like that.

Ya, you know like a DJ mix or a mash up. One of the best mashups I've heard is Dean Gray, Mixed Green Day with other songs like oasis. Google it, theres probably some on YouTube too. There was also a mash up of Jay-Z's Black Album and the Beatles' White Album. Called the Grey Album. It takes a lot of skill though, but maybe you could pull it off.
