Teach a man to fish? It's time to start imagining poverty more complexly.

The Uncultured Project isn't a formal charity or organization. If you want to help kids like Sharief on a monthly or yearly basis - consider looking into charities that have child sponsorship programs. Do your research - they aren't all the same.

  • awesome thing your doin, but you didn't teach them how to fish, you gave them the fish.

  • @briperez Ergo the question mark at the end. So many people think if you teach a family how to fish you've solved their problems. Here's a family that knows how to fish - but still can't survive. And with rising food costs, it's getting worse, not better.

  • @UnculturedProject Tu-shay, How how about a lesson in hydroponics/aquaponics? Better yet... idk give them the capability to go on the internet. Yes... easier said than done. ;)

  • @briperez I'm a big advocate of bridging the digital divide. But I think it's best if the poor save enough and see the value in connected technology to buy it themselves. You'd be surprised how many Bangladehis have cellphones. Even with video cameras. Now if internet access gets cheap enough - and they see the value in using it - they might get online themselves.

  • Hi! Shawn & Jess both good work!!

i'm from Thailand, How could i support you by here?

  • Hi tuedtuez - spreading the word among your friends would be huge. Especially if they subscribed and started being a part of the YouTube community :)
