All around the world these days, the big story is the economy.

All Asian markets have been hit hard by the U.S. credit crisis, but now the Chinese economy is facing another long-term threat: rising oil prices.

It's now more expensive than ever to ship products around the world, and many companies are finding it's no longer profitable to have their products made in China.

As a result some companies are shipping their jobs back home, and the Chinese economy is slowing down.
Rising oil prices are just one factor adding to China's economic woes. The Shanghai stock market has lost almost half of its value since its peak last year, and China's economic growth rate has been shrinking for four straight quarters.

Meanwhile, other Asian countries—like South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia—are hoping to capitalize on China's slowdown.
