Since i don't see a comment in a while, i do want to mention that even now it is definately not an incorrect color scheme. It was the widespread second color scheme for the Rubik's brand 3x3 back in the 1980s. Yes you could get factory produced rubiks brands in two different color scheme. One in w/b r/o y/g, and also the one you have. But strangely enough the color scheme you have is considered really rare and if you have a rubiks brand in that color scheme people would pay good money for it.

You can't really say "it's the wrong colour scheme." It's a japanese color scheme and many cubers use it.
