2009 Geneva Auto Show Highlights: Mazda, BMW, & more...

Although some manufacturers pulled out of the Detroit and Chicago auto shows, the 2009 Geneva Auto Show is shaping up nicely this year. Maybe it's the more favorable spring time slot, or the draw of a slightly more fashionable European city. What's the difference? There will be cars and we'll be there to cover them.

As usual, European manufacturers will dominate the proceedings. The Porsche 911 GT3 is one confirmed debut, along with a biofuel Bentley and the new 2010 Volkswagen Golf. Look for world debuts from Audi , BMW and Mercedes-Benz as well.

Oh, and remember the Chevrolet Beat? It's expected to make a real-world premiere after it was pushed out of the Detroit show at the last minute. The Europeans are bound to love it; we'll reserve our assessment until we can see it up close. Check back here beginning March 3 for all the details, photos and video.

2:36 My uncle has that Wangler Rubicon too! And it steals a lot of attention from Ferraris and Bentley GTs when it hits the streets lol.

I don't like much of BMWs marketing nowadays with over the top styling and everything is out of proportion. Now I'm turning my attention to Mercedes (which I never did). their styling is so much more sensible!
