In the mid 2000's heart surgeons such as Dr. Robert Lazzara began to develop pioneering minimally invasive approaches to treating atrial fibrillation. These approaches were totally endoscopic. Watch the human heart as it is beating and exposed from the sac that surrounds it. The approach seen here served as the basis for the advanced techniques employed today.
