ABC incorrectly bills Woz as 'The Mac Mastermind' in "Dancing with the Stars" promo

I think its a marketing thing more than anything else. Mac Mastermind kinda has a ring to it. Plus, Mac has more of a connection to the audience that be watching this program than the original line of Apples would.

well he DID help make what it is today.. so i dont see it as that much of a deal.

No he didn't. Woz had nothing to do with the Mac line of products. He engineered the fantastic Apple that came before them.

They billed a bunch of people incorrectly.
Well, mostly they exaggerated.

I don't see that big deal.

They just chose "The Mac Mastermind" because probably no one younger than 40 today would remember the Apple I and ][ at all. And besides, everyone knew Steve Woz was from Apple already, so they had to choose something relevant to Apple that everyone would recognize and yet seem relevant to the subject of Woz himself.

It used to be that people who worked in television actually checked their facts before putting them on the air. While "Dancing with the Stars" is hardly a news magazine or program, the booking producer who booked Woz on the show ought to have done his or her homework.
