I agree the US version is cheesy - but - I also grew up a lot of US cop shows of that era... I think they meant to capture that, more than to reproduce the UK version. I enjoyed it, either way. When I first watched it, I didn't know it was a remake (probably helped). Now that I know there is one, I can't wait to see the original!

@MetusModus Well actually, it was watched in the uk on FX, TV3 in Latvia, and TV3+ and TV6 in Lithuania. Also you've proven how much of a ass you are just now, did you see it? "I don't remember that being said" well if you never watched the interviews on the dvd, you never would have even SEEN the interviews in the first place. God I love it when idiots out themselves.

@MetusModus well considering I just watched it 5 days ago, I'd say yea, your memory is slipping. Rent (I'm guessing you don't own the dvd of the US series) the last disc with all the special features on it, and watch the interviews.

I find it funny that so many people hate the American version, yet during an interview (which appears on the DVD set) the creators of the BBC show admit to helping them write the show and loving what they did with it.

... This is like the corniest thing ever. Not a patch on the ORIGINAL UK version with John Simm and Phillip Glennister. Also Michael Imperioli with a moustache and long hair is very strange.

I can't find any of these episodes. I already watched all the UK version. I wanted to see this one.
