The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit has been tasked to investigate the cause of a serious car accident involving a police car and a taxi.
At around 7.30pm two police vehicles were travelling westbound along Cleveland Street in Moore Park, whilst responding with lights and sirens activated to an urgent job.
A taxi travelling northbound along Anzac Parade collided with one of the police cars.
A female police officer remained in her vehicle for around 30 minutes whilst Paramedics stabilised her. She was taken by ambulance to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with a suspected neck and chest injury.
The driver of the Police car was able to self extricate and sustained only minor injuries. As a precaution, he was placed in a neck brace and was transported to St Vincent's Hospital.
A male taxi driver was also treated on scene, hower his injuries are considered minor.
It is expected that the road will remain closed until Midnight.
