Scandiano City, in Italy, is testing High power LED lights for public streets

  • @thomasking55 But these 180 watt LED lights are putting out a lot more light per watt than the old Sodium HPS lamps. (look for shots of HPS and LED side by side)

    Also, there's been plenty of evidence supporting that a fuller spectrum white light reduces not only accidents (vehicle/vehicle, vehicle/pedestrian), but also has significantly reduced crime rates vs. HPS Sodium lighting. When you factor that in as well, these new LED lights are the obvious choice to me. Kudos to Scandiano City, Italy!

  • 180 watts is no saving over, say, a 75 watt SON lamp...

  • Queste cose devono essere fatte.. ADESSO! dobbiamo smetterla di arrivare sempre e comunque in ritardo!!! Spero vivamente che Scandiano faccia da capostipite alla trasformazione, e spero che tutto ciò avvenga nel più rapido dei modi... io sto trasformando a led non solo la mia auto, ma anche la casa, dove possibile.
