VIVA SANTANA!!
-
If radio had any taste, sense, and courage when this album came out, this song would have been a M O N S T E R hit. But the song is so heavy, funky, Latin, jazzy, explosive, and real that Top-40 could never touch it. Reminds me of "Incident at Neshabur" on Abraxas and "Every Step of the Way" on Caravanserai. Too good for the masses - they missed out. There will NEVER be music written and played like this again.

This music is a masterpiece. The album is a masterpiece. I still have all of my vinyl Santana albums, one copy of every one that was ever released. The latin jazz fusion that Carlos was producing in that era was out of this world. All of that music is still my favorite. Welcome was also a masterpiece. Caravanserai was a masterpiece. The list goes on and on.

@freeversejams I so agree. You are a very intelligent individual. It feels good to know that there are other people out there who have an understanding of this music. You do, as is made evident in how you described it.

You are so right about taste-and about Courage.-right now Swedish Radio CH2 is broadcasting a 2 Hour Special about Miles Davis-I am not listening since I know I can listen to it later.

I started out listening to Carlos LIVE in Mexico and just realized that I have now spent over an hour YouTubing Santana and enjoying every minute of it. LOVING every minute. Thanks to all who have posted their videos.
