Yet again, more people vote for American Idol than during an election. Instead of saying low voter turnout is due to political apathy you're saying it's satisfaction, but logically, if you're satisfied with government you'd want to do anything to protect that?

oh brother,
low voter turnout is a sign of satisfaction with the government - the more a government fucks up, the more people show up to the polls to try and fix things. That's why there was a much higher turnout for, say, bush v. kerry than clinton v. dole
