The language Obama used is because he and the left in general feel that all the money is theirs to begin with. They will decide what you will get in the form entitlements and money, so since the money is theirs a tax cut is taking money from them and needs to be paid for somehow.

When he said "paid for tax cuts" I think he meant increase the tax base. Increasing taxes in not good but increasing the tax base is. You do this by getting more people back to work. The rest of your rebuttal was pretty spot on. I have an autistic son BTW.

Obama has topped himself several times since this video was made. The state of the union speech last week was the stupidest speech I've ever heard, but there's no point in calling it the stupidest speech ever. I have faith in our president. He'll continue to outdo himself.

They would never be literally fending for themselves - no infant could fend for themselves. Obviously having a healthcare system whereby people always have access to needed care would be beneficial for those in need without health insurance.
