Now we get to the more challenging stages and more troublesome bosses. With patient foot soldier fighting and jump kicking during the bosses, however, I get past without even needing the pizzas (although I almost need the pizza against Granitor).

Lieutenant Granitor is the boss who always seemed to last longer than any other boss besides Krang and The Shredder, and I think that he actually does have more HP than any other boss before Krang. Anyway, the basic jump kicking works here. All you gotta do is jump quickly after hitting him in order to avoid a counterattack swing and stay away from his line of fire - that flamethrower seems to do quite a bit of damage. Notice how, after Granitor dies, the pizza that I hadn't picked up disappears. This does not happen during other boss fights where there's a pizza.

The ninja magic stage introduces quite a few new enemies. The lazy looking blue guys die with two A+B swings, and it's best to keep them in the corner so that they don't get to throw their kunai's at you. The toughest part of this level is when those goddamn bamboo spears rise from the floor. Luckily I got through without taking damage, though. With the magical tigers I always just use the regular attack against their face. There may be quicker ways, but this one is pretty safe, at least. The important thing is to grasp the idea of when they do those leaps. Oh, and then the scorpion-looking things... they're pretty fucking annoying, but can be neutralized if you can get them trapped in a corner (much like the one-wheel robots). In this play I screw up quite a bit with them, though.

And then the boss, Shogun. He seems to have a pretty low amount of HP and his counterattacks are very slow. His flying head is the only threat. The head is pretty easy to avoid when it's flying around, but the dangerous moment is when it leaves the body, as the timing can't be predicted. The safe way for a flawless victory would be to only attack when the head is in the air.
