Garden Makeover

This is a time-lapse video that NESN aired during the pregame show of the Boston Bruins-Montreal Canadiens game on Saturday April 18, 2009. The Boston Celtics had played basketball at the TD Banknorth Garden that afternoon, and the Bruins then played hockey there that evening. In between games, crews transformed the Garden from a basketball court to a hockey rink. This clip has the time-lapse in "real-time" as it aired, then slowed down on a video-editor for better visibility, then another look as it aired.

It is a cool video. Always thought that was neat how they can play one sport in the afternoon and another just a few hours later. Any idea how long it takes to convert it?

I didn't say this transformation took place on April 18. I said it aired on April 18 prior to the pregame show. When was it actually shot? I don't know.

@VTTVWatcher Depends on how many people you have workng.

I've done this with a crew of about 10 people and it took 10 hours, but they obviously have a hell of a lot more than 10 people.

With that many workers it probably takes about 2 and a half hours. At the arena I work at we have less people and it takes us about 4 hours.

This video is backwards. you can see the away team celebrating before the penalty shot is taken. I'm guessing this was a B's game and then they changed it to the parquet for a Celts game the next day.

It was at some point during the regular season like some montages they do on NESN takes place during the season when they transform the basketball court to a hockey rink, but hey your right it just aired and again cool vid.

Yea and there isn't any stanley cup playoffs logo next to each blue line ethier and if you look closely at the parquet floor of the garden you can see theres no playoffs logo on there ethier. but hey other than that, its a good video.
