My Tool Boxes / On Call Mechanic

I used to work for GM (General Motors) as a mechanic/diesel tech then left due to personal reasons. Decided to be a mechanic again but for another shop Lithia Kia, things didn't go accordingly to what I was told so I had a talk with the big boss and well.... he didn't like what I had to say... and that explains why my toolbox is in the garage, sucks but what can you do..

I have came to notice that where I live, Anchorage, Alaska most of the shops are the same on the mechanics side where politics and favoritism is heavy. Based off a couple mechanics I have spoken to and word of mouth.

@capufool yeah. If I were you I'd get the master set they offer. Then build on that once you figure out what you want to specialize in; under car specialist/drivetain/heavy line etc etc.

@AdoboKingTV Yea a mechanics life is hard on the brain and body. Your still young yet so your still flexable and can still learn. My advice is put a car in your drive way up on blocks pull your tools out and start working on it people will come to you asking if you could repair their cars also. Sounds like you have a dream about your own shop and thats a good thing. Do your job honestly and do the absolute best workmanship you can for your customer and you will do all right.

I did the same thing and told my boss to shove it up his ass. Now i am at home out of the garage. Theres always somebody knocking at the door looking for work to be done on there automobiles. Good luck guy.
